(1)Broadcasting and Television    

 Teaching characteristics 

Being a first-class undergraduate major in Chongqing, we mainly train high-quality applied talents for the transportation industry, media industry, etc.. In the curriculum system we implement the principle of “new liberal arts education”, reflect the characteristics of "communication plus transportation", offer courses like Transportation History and Culture, Image Communication of transportation engineering, etc., and strengthen graduates’ cognition and sense of belonging to the transportation industry. We cooperate with journalism and communication colleges in Hong Kong and Shanghai to conduct professional practice for students, while exhibition of graduation micro-videos and micro-films is the other chance for students to improve their professionalism and practical ability.   

Achievements 

For teachers, their research findings of the "cultural communication plus transportation" project got the Second Prize of Science and Technology of China Highway and Transportation Society, which was the first science and technology award obtained by teachers in Chongqing Jiaotong University. Students got the first prize in national competitions many times. Moreover, students  won the Special Prize of the Global Charity Innovation Competition and the "Silver Feiyan" Award and the "Best Actress" Double Prize in the Cross-strait Micro-film and Micro-video Contest, etc.. 

Employment 

In the past three years, the initial employment rate of graduates has continuously exceeded 90%. Over 18% graduates further their study as postgraduates and more than 30% graduates work in the world’s top 500 transportation companies and China’s top 500 companies. Graduates with processional orientation of Digital News and Transportation Culture are sought after by Communication companies and organizations of transportation. Graduates are also well received by mainstream media organizations in China such as China Central Television(CCTV), Guangming Daily, and Southern Weekend.   

 (2)Advertising     

Teaching characteristics

 In the curriculum system we implement the principle of “new liberal arts education”, reflects the characteristics of "advertising plus transportation", offer courses like Transportation History and Culture, Image Communication of transportation engineering, etc., and strengthen graduates’ awareness and sense of belonging to the transportation industry. Small-class-based lecture and double tutorial system is our feature. To improve students’ professionalism and practical ability, we hold graduation exhibition of graphic design and copywriting works. We encourage students to participate in professional events such as ONESHOW and the National Grand Competition in which students were awarded several times.

 Achievements:

 In National College Students Advertising Art Competition students won multiple times gold, silver and bronze awards, the number of which takes the lead among the universities in Chongqing. Students got many times "Mingde Scholarship", the top prize for students of Chongqing Jiaotong University.

 Employment

 In the past three years, the initial employment rate of graduates has continuously exceeded 90%. Over 15% graduates further their study as postgraduates successfully and more than 20% graduates work in the world’s top 500 transportation companies and China’s top 500 companies. The annual output value of companies operated by graduates for 10 years has exceeded 30 million RMB.

 (3)Tourism Management

 Teaching characteristics

 Being a first-class undergraduate major in Chongqing, we mainly train high-quality applied talents for the transportation industry, cultural tourism organizations, etc.. In the curriculum system we implement the pricinple of “new liberal arts education”, reflects the characteristics of "tourism plus transportation", offer courses like Transportation History and Culture, Cruise Tourism, Creative Tourism, etc., and strengthen graduates’ cognition and sense of belonging to the transportation industry. To improve students’ professionalism and practical ability , we cooperate with projects of Beautiful Countryside and Beautiful Roads to conduct professional practice for students, while holding graduation exhibition of tourism planning and professional skills.

 Achievements

 For teachers, their research findings of the "cultural tourism plus transportation" project got the First Prize of Chongqing Municipal Government Development Research Award, which was the first prize of development research won by teachers from our University. Not only were the student teams selected for many times in the "Ten Thousand Talents in Tourism Program-Practical Service-oriented Talent Training Project" held by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, but the teams won the second prize of the National Red Tourism Creative Planning Competition for College Students several times.

 Employment

 In past three years, the initial employment rate of graduates has continuously exceeded 90%, and the average salary of fresh graduates is about 10% higher than that of other liberal arts majors. Graduates with professional orientations of Cruise Tourism and Tourist Highway Planning are well received by large and medium-sized companies and organizations of transportation and Tourism planning. Adapting to the rising trend of tourism industry, graduates take the initiative in innovation and entrepreneurship. The annual output value of companies operated by them has exceeded 30 million RMB.  

 (4) Education for International students

 Teaching Characteristics   

 As one of the earliest universities in Chongqing which have the major of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages(TCSOL) , we started to recruit international students in 2002. We established the Confucius Institute with Abomey Callaway University in Beninthe first HSK online examination centre in southwest China, and the Benin Research Centre which is the National and Regional Research Centre authorized by the Ministry of Education. We provide a range of undergraduate and master programs in TCSOL and Chinese language learning programs.    

In the context of the “Belt and Road initiative” and the construction of Chongqing’s inland open highlands, we take advantages of university’s education in transportation and civil engineering, highlight the characteristics of “TCSOL plus Transportation”, offer courses like Engineering Chinese, Chinese Writing of Engineering Letters, International Engineering Negotiations and so on, and cultivate high-level applied talents with broad international vision, good Chinese cultural literacy, solid foundation in Chinese language, and high professional abilities.    

Achievements    

Students won gold and silver awards of "Chinese Bridge"—Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Students in China and the first prize of various types of Chinese competitions held in Chongqing several times . Furthermore, the school hosted the Chongqing Division of the 4th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Students in China, while organizing the Confucius Institute summer camps, and holding activities such as China-Germany, China-France, China-Poland, China-Australia Chinese Cultural Experience Week which are well received by overseas students.  

 Employment    

More than 1,000 international students from more than 20 countries of five continents have graduated from our school. Being engaged in economic and trade translation, engineering management, Chinese education, etc. in Chinese and foreign engineering companies, graduates are sought after nationally and internationally and have a high employment rate of 100%.
